    Canadian Maker's Marks

    Hello.

I have noticed some maker's marks on Canadian flags and webbing gear that have a partial maple leaf with a number under it (usually 3 digits) all enclosed in a circle. Does anyone know what is the proper name for these marks, and a list of the maker's and their numbers? Any help would be appreciated.

the proper term would be ACCEPTANCE STAMP

Those are post war military acceptance stamps and I believe the numbers are the inspectors numbers....not a makers mark..

To add to this just a little, this post war acceptance stamp officially replaced the beloved C broad arrow mark in 1949 although items have been seen with the C broad arrow stamp as late as 1954.

Thanks for everyones help on the matter.

I do have one more question. If an item was marked with a "c" broad arrow with a number 50 just below it, would that mean: it was inspector number 50 or the year 1950?

Thanks again for all your help.
