Need help to id rifle

Hi Guys,

I need some help identifying this rifle as I'm not great with items from this era. It has broad arrow stamps all over it. Would appreciate some help on this, thanks.

Des it could be a Snider but it seems short so perhaps a cavalry Snider. I will keep looking .Rob.

Looks like a 2 band rifle instead of a 3 band rifle ,it should have some gubbins like this on the lock plate .Rob

It's a Snider. The BSA on the lockplate stands for Birmingham Small Arms.

577 CALIBRE SNIDER ENFIELD for sure cut down model and looks like the stuff coming out of AFGANISTAN right now.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for that. It was stored badly so has some surface rust obscuring those details. I rubbed at it with an old cloth and I can just about make out a date, 1873? I think. Are these rifles worth much? Obviously mine has condition issues.
