Was this helmet sold as an S.A.S. item, and were the extra markings identified in the description?

Hi Barry, No it wasn't desribed as a specific S.A.S helmet. Infact there wasn't a closeup pic of the markings except for the BMB Marking and the name inside the rim.

Size marking

Hi Greg

After looking at the stamps it is interesting to note that the size in imperial is written over the branded number 58. I wonder if this is also a size ? Also despite being up-side down, the SAS branded letters are official and I doubt done in a garage. Note the serifs to the letter A. It is almost as though the manufacturer did this or Ordnance? It might have something to do with it being sold off to another country?
