Air Raid Police Coat With Intelligence Corp Pins, Is This Genuine?

This was brought in to a local church rummage sale. The woman said it was found in her mothers trunk. I looked at the back of the buttons and they are from different makers but all in London. In the limited amount of info I could find on the ARP,these people had various duties. Why would there be Intelligence corp pins attached to the shoulders of the coat. My question, is this the real deal and why are those pins there. Also, what kind of value does this have. Thanks for any info

I would have thought if the person were allowed to attach badges to their coat it would have been on the collars and not the eppaulettes...

The badges could have been put on there post war ,value I would say ******163;40 or thereabouts to a Brit homefront collector ,the trouble is the post will probably be ******163;20 to UK .Rob

I can think of no possible reason why these Int Corps badges could be worn like that? I would agree with Robb.

                    Cheers, Ade.

Just a quick point, ARP stands for Air Raid Precautions, not Police.
