Took some pictures today of trench art made by Canadian soldiers to commemorate the successful Allied offensive undertaken on August 21, 1918.
By day's end this major offensive had resulted in the taking of the small French town of Albert, the taking of several thousand German prisoners, and sending the German army itself into full retreat.
Hope you find them of interest.
First, a pair of drinking steins made from German field telephone wire and artillery shell casings, engraved on the front with Canadian insignia affixed.
