    Ross Fixed focus.

A RAF Ross Mk IV fixed focus set with transit case.
A recent buy , needs cleaning , case is felt lined and seems to be made of heavy duty cardboard with webbing stud fastening and strap.
Lens are bloomed , red purging ports good eye relief and rubber eyepad.
Hopefully they will clean up well.
A commonly found set , not rare or worth a huge amount of money but one of those examples which has a history and can be bought for under £40-50 which when cleaned up are good to use.

Another jpeg of this wee set.
It is easy to dismiss British and American sets as not being up to the same standard as German made binoculars - it has to be said that Zeiss produced a more varied range and better quality optics than anything we produced , equally true is that what we produced was the equal of anything made by leitz.
The fully birded sets from leitz are and always will be collectible but from an optical point of view (IMO) Ross and Barr (and) Stroud made sets of equal quality - this one being a good example of a well made , robust and excellent binocular.
