This price just doesn't make any sense to me! I remember even 2 or 3 years ago when plenty of dealers had lots of nice ones for sale at the ******163;25-30 mark. Now prices like this seem to be the norm?

Sorry about moaning about prices but I have a lovely No. 1 Commando lot of insignia I can't seem to get rid of for a very reasonable ******163;300 but people are throwing ******163;70 around for Pegasus patches and ******163;100 odd for bog standard Para wings which must be thousands of times more common.

The bidder may have had a left facing pegasus with the same amount of wear? How much does a matching set of printed pegasus cost now? 150 quid or more?

I`m with Des on this one. Its probably someone trying to build a pair, sadly they were a little unlucky that the underbidder pushed them up. I agree that this is a lot of money for a mass produced printed example. I`m glad I dont collect these!

You 1st Commando salamander is indeed a nice item. I like it because of the original OCA membership pass although I think what is putting many collectors off is the condition of the badge itself.

When I was trading on eBay I found that many people had different opinions about what I was selling. Items that I thought were brilliant, was an opinion not always shared by the bidders. Collectors can be totally unpredictable at times.

Steve is right bidding can be totally unpredictable ,for example 2 81st west african spider patches sold for over ******163;110 which is double what I would expect . The key to getting a high price is to not know what you are selling and start at 99pence .If you do know what you are selling and you give the whole description thing then it seems to keep the other cloth bidders away . Ebay is a bugger .Rob

I know Des! I have been watching with disbelief

I was buying nice matching pairs 3/4 years back for that price! In fact I remember when I got a nice set off Peter Taylor for ******163;45 around that time!

Oh gosh...
