Canada Medal with Fenian Raid 1870 Bar

Can anyone tell me what medal this is? What is the significance of the Fenian Raid 1870 Bar? It is named to Ens. J. Tattersall 44th Bn. Oh, what does the ribbon look like, and where can I get one?

    Thanks...Tom

He is on the medal roll, so that is a good thing.

Can you show a photo of the naming style?

The ribbon is Red-White-Red in equal sized stripes.

Looks like the claw has been repaired/tightened at some point and the medal banged about somewhat.

Forgot to mention this is the Canada General Service Medal, or CGSM.

There is quite a lot of info about the medal and the Fenian Raids of 1866 and 1870 online if you google the subject.

Adam, a shot of the edge naming style, as per your request. What does this tell us?

            Tom,

The naming style is the correct, distinctive font for the original issues. Later issues were named using a different type of impressed naming.
