Just wanted to know if it was correct for WW2 Canadian overcoats to have Divisional and unit branch insignia on both sleeves. I always thought that the Canadians, like the British, only wore rank insignia on their overcoats. (The Brits sometimes also with service trips, but no titles)
This auction piece clearly shows a lot more insignia! So I'm puzzled...was this really done?
Can somebody explain the regulations and if these were adhered to?
Also what is the difference between a ww2 pattern Canadian and post war (M51?) Korean war era greatcoat? (if any)
Thanks Nick
Here is the auction link: (original applied insignia???)
