    Funny para cap badge

Guys, what is your opinion on this para cap badge? It looks good imo but I have never seen one with such a weird back!

    Unfortunately one lug is broken.

    Cheers, Luc

It's cast. Does it have a silver content or manufacturer?

      Yours, Guy.

        Hi Guy,
There are no manufacturers stampings at all, and there is not a hint of silver. I presume it is made of solid nickel.

So this one gets your thums up?

        Cheers, Luc

I've got a few of these. All have voided crowns and are better quality than the "normal" pieces. I've seen them silver plated and standard white metal or nickel. Also is the silver piece made by Ludlow of London. Interesting badges and in my opinion original without any doubt.

          Thanks, from Jack.

Thanks Jack! Would you have any idea of the value of my crippled example?

            Cheers, Luc

I don't think I could get more than 40 euro for it. It could be repaired which might add to the value?

The title arrived today too, thanks

              Jack.

                40 euro wow, that's £4.99 well spent!

I'm glad the title arrived after only 6 bleeding weeks. I just filed a claim at the post office.

                Cheers, Luc

Is it cast, or is it semi solid die struck?

I'm not sure Leigh, I'm no expert on manufacturing.

How can you tell the difference?

                    Cheers, Luc

Sorry not to have replied sooner Luc.

I too really like it and have seen silver and plated examples also.

I think it is cast Leigh but it could be from a re-enforced die, (could we see an edge shot please luc). As an aside it looks as though the crown may have been made seperately and attatched.

                      Yours, Guy.
