          It's British

In 1996 or 1967 I drew this very insignia, and forty five others, for “The Formation Sign”; the journal of the Military Heraldry Society. The drawings were based on photocopies of the pages from a manufacturers sample book owned by a fellow society member. Most, though infuriatingly not all of the signs were clearly labelled; this particular one as “209. Coy Pioneer Corps”. An illustrated article about the signs in the book appeared in “The Formation Sign” No 186 (April -June 1997). <O</O
Contrary to what some may believe the Jacquard weaving technique was not the sole preserve of the Bandfabrik Ewald Vorsteher. The technique has been in use since the nineteenth century.<O</O

To reiterate this is the badge of..<O</O
209 Company AMPC, the colours are those of the Pioneer Corps not some obscure foreign volunteer unit of the Wehrmacht.

Hi Richard Woods many thanks for your help

            we have resolved the mystery

but sincerely, except for the dimensions, all made me think about a German insignia. Even if I was not quite certain of the epoch and I had thought about a production for a local police or a French unity or English or American in Germany.

hi people many thanks for all your help

Please I would be happy to see this insignia in some photos and to know where I can find some information on this unity and the period of use of this insignia.
            many thanks
