What unit was this hat for?

This was a save and I was wondering who it would have been issued to?

    Thanks for the help!

Hmmm...the shape and construction certainly look Germanic to me. The peak does resemble some Commonwealth types but the colour and other details do not lead me to believe this is from a Commonwealth country.

Unless perhaps this is not military at all and in fact part of some kind of civilian uniform?

Although I am really not a headgear expert...these are just my impressions.

Are there any markings to the interior that might give us clues?

          Hi Adam,
Nary a one. The German guys all say this is British. The wool realllyy looks German to me but the bill is very British in look as well. That's why I am so puzzled

            Marching band hat.

Looks like the visor was at one time part of a CW gaurds Cap

Most likly taken apart and then recoverd for use in a marching band or thatical costume.

Show the inside, maybe it's detectable by the lining.
