WW 1 badge

Dear all,

I'm ex Royal Army Army Medical Corps and I can't find any information on this badge.

I've no reference to it in any of my books,but I do have one photo of a chap wearing the badge.

If anyone can help I'd like to learn more about this badge.

One idea is it may be for conseintious objectors

Interesting photo. I have never seen another like it, but I reckon he's a male VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachmant) ambulance driver (Breeches & boots) - possibly a 'Conshy' like you say. It might not even be Great War, but possibly before (Balkans) when the Red Cross provided medical aid. Not too sure... grey area, but worth further research. I'm sure the British Red Cross would be interested, if unable to help. Check out their website.
