British Dragoon 1814 Toulouse campaign medal, discharge, + more & more

A close friend just picked up this lot belonging to one man and wants to know more about it. He does not collect such items per se, and does eventually plan on selling them but would like to know more about the grouping, unit, and or man, if at all possible. Of course he would like to know an approximate value of it as well as his preliminary research on the medal alone puts it within a very wide price range and he wants to be fair when it does go to market.

This lot includes a sterling silver campaign medal with the 1814 Napoleonic campaign bar for the battle of Toulouse. The medal is named to a Troop Sergeant Major W. Birch who served with the 3rd Regiment Light Dragoons.

Also included is his discharge paper which shows his enlistment as of 24 April 1813 and his release on 8th July 1840 at Maidstone Barracks, his character being "GOOD".

Other items include one steel spur, a pair of articulated brass shoulder boards, his cap device (I am assuming), and some sort of Masonic items (which I don't yet have pictures of).

Would you all be so kind as to tell us more if at all possible?

    Thank you!

    Regards,

    Chuck

$1500-1600 I'd say was a fair asking price for this interesting ensemble.
