    Unknown holster

Any ideas? The snap is marked "Lift the dot" on the front and Australia Carr Fast Co on the under side, It's a light canvas material with a wooden bottom part, the whole thing's covered in a greenish paint.

    Cheers

    Hi,

IMHO it could possibly be a locally/soldier made late war (possibly post?) jungle 'issue' (used in the loosest sense) holster for the American lend/lease .38 Smith and Wesson revolver (or possibly the British Webley). I say jungle issue because it looks like the rot-proofed material used to make jungle equipment, and the lift the dot I think was used on the late war MK4 turtle helmets etc.

To me it looks like a Holster for the Flare Gun.
I had the same ones in khaki from the Danish Army, matching the 37 Ptn. Equipment.

Thanks for the replys, I was tempted to sell it and then had second thoughts as I had no idea what it was it came with a group of stuff ages ago (from memory about 3 pairs of war dated air force gaiters c stamped), Would not have thought jungle or flare, I have taken a photo of the back next to a p37 holster for sizing, It just has a leather part on the back for a belt to loop through.

        Cheers
