5th Lancashire Rifle Volunteer Corps?

I could'nt place this despite the obvious conclusion that it a Liver Bird - it's not the WWI Liverpools Pals badge & I could'nt think of another item of insignia with the bird on it in that form.

The link to the photo of this badge has gone now, I'd like another look at it - I think it may be the central device from the helmet plate of the old 5th Lancashire Rifle Volunteer Corps.
