Help identifying RNZAF wings, and value ?

    Gents,

I don't collect too much Commonweath stuff, mainly just US. I have had this pair of wings for about 15 or 20 years now. I was originally told they were Royal New Zealand Air Force pilot's wings from WW2.

Can you help me verify what they are and what the value on them would be ?

I'll attach a couple of photos, but they are a little dark. I'll see if I can't take better photos in the next few days.

    Thanks,

    Rich Mason

These are actually Rhodesian pilot's wings pre-52 and are quite scarce.

Garth is right. If they were New Zealand pilot wings, they would have NZ in the center below the crown. These Rhodesian wings are very nice!

          Hi Rich,

          One example of RNZAF Wings:

Thanks. What are they worth ?

Wow, Rhodesian ??? Okay, thanks for identifying them.

What would the value be on them ? I don't think they have ever been sewn on a uniform. Not quite "mint", but probably at least "excellent" condition.

I was thinking about selling them as well as an original pair of RAF pilots wings and RCAF pilots wings that I have, as they don't really fit my collection, but I have no idea on values (as I have had them all for 15-20 years).

              Rich,
I don't think $200 for a Rhodesian pilot wing would be unreasonable but you'll need a better picture as they have been reproduced.

Nowadays a real set of Rhodesian wings will easily command 350-450 bucks. As has been stated before, they are very uncommon.
