Additional Information: Son of William Herbert and Marjorie Mary Beatrice Harrison, of South Collingham, Nottinghamshire. Died in Spitfire BL815 at 12.45pm during an attack with three comrades from 485 Squadron on the railway station in the Dutch town of Goes. It was successfully strafed, a civilian engine driver was unfortunately killed. BL815 struck a telegraph pole and crashed. The pilots remains were buried on 28 July 1942 as unknown airman in the Noorder Cemetery, Flushing. Further remains were found at the crash site in 1946 excavated by the RAF MREU, identified as P/O Harrison and reunited at Flushing.
