Very NICE Ade!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!
A some years I try to catch the things that were of my uncle who was of the RAF Legal Corps during the Second War.
My cousins do not give to importance none, are all closed in a box... exist super photos albums, souvenirs (many gifts that my father ordered for it of the front line), sidecaps, letters and documents....
As a colleague spoke, these things are treasures of our families and must very well taken care of and be preserved for the future generations.
How many of us (enthusiastic of military history and collectors) we do not know nothing of the past of our families?
As we went to be satisfied in discovering the military careers, the medals that they had earned, the militarie life and the experiences that had ...we to exist today.
*Sorry my BAD english Folks!
Best regards,
Ricardo.

[quote=Mons 1914;1690523]Very Nice Ade,
..................A postcard of Harold, he wares a 1940 Pattern BD with rank strips - He writes, Hope you will always treasure it, I know you will.
I Love You
xxxxxxxx
Harold.
These inverted chevrons are'nt rank stripes, they're Good Conduct Badges - "Good Conduct Stripes".
The first stripe was awarded for 2 years service, the second after another 3, the third after another 7, so these two stripes represent between 5 & 12 years of good conduct.
They were only worn by Corporals & ranks below.
