    Unknown British Aircraft

I don't remember where I got this photo from. Can anyone tell me the type and vintage of aircraft? I would assume it was used against ships or submarines, judging from the cool paint job!

Its got "Hawker" written all over it!
I'm guessing and going from memory alone, Hawker Audax or Osprey!
both early 1930's aircraft stretching to mid 40's

But being no expert on these old bangers its still a guess
    cheers, Rik

Look like a two seater so a Hawker Hind or Hart?? I have a good book on it at home I''l take a look tonight but I think there was very little external differance.

Looks like a paint job for one of the airshows at RAE

On second look I would say it was a Hart it had a single long exaust pipe one each side while the Hind had a number of short ones up front. Seems it also has a only a tail skid and not a wheel so it is most likey a very early production mod or prototype.

I agree with byterock on it being a Hawker Hart.

Of the Hawker Hart family (Hind,Audax,Fury,Hector,Demon,Hardy etc)there were many variants. The Hart was a light bomber had gunner at rear with a ring mounted gun,the Audax which this might be was an Army Co-operation version the fury a single seater fighter.Hector also Army Co-operation,Demon a two seater fighter,Hind light bomber,Hardy light bomber for desert regions, all looked simular

From the uniform of the other ranker the picture was taken during the uniform change period when the RAF went to a collar and tie 1926/1930
