Does anyone have any thoughts on the pair on ebay at the moment. They look pretty good to me but I have only handled one real pair and that was some time ago. They certainly seem to have all the right bits in the right places.

      Hiya Lee,

Comparing them to my two pairs [insert big head icon] they look good. All the right bits in the right places. Good luck to whoever bids on these and may God bless your wallet!

      Jack.

Going on reference books they look good as I've never actually handled a genuine pair.

They are very nice but I'm afraid I would want a pair with the label complete. Didn't they continue making these into 46?

                Yours, Guy.

Its hard to tell from fotos but they tick all my boxes.(if I was gonna be fussy I would like a lable but there are not enough of them about to be choosy i suppose)
I am glad I bought mine a long long time ago (I thought the £250 was a hell of a price 17 years ago - thank god my wife didnt know what I spent!!!) its nice to know what they are worth now

To think that my next door neighbour was using a pair of these for gardening,

Yes they are now been treasured and looked after (by me ).

The pair on ebay look fine to me but at that price i would want a lable in it.
To be honest i wouldnt ever pay that for a pair of trousers its just not worth it. Its only got to that price becouse to many people have more money than sence.

Regarding price, an item is worth what someone is willing to pay. All the pairs I have seen in the past few years have all been around £2000, although I think Jack 'stole' a damaged pair on ebay for less than £1000. Many of us can remember when WW2 stuff was dirt cheap, you couldn't give Tommy helmets away, but the recent resurgence of WW2 history lessons in school and re-enactment has caused a lot of new interest and so the prices keep creeping up. There are several 'expensive' items still on my wants list that I've been looking for for a long time so if one turned up and I had the cash on me I'd probably buy it and think about the cost later, if collecting trends carry on this way the value will only go up anyway.
                        Rant over, Lee

I didn’t say anything about it not been worth much to me at all far from it. I take it that I have offended some one by my comment if so then I’m sorry.

I was lucky to of picked kit like this up years and years ago when I was a we sprat, every time I look on eBay or some other over priced site I’m amazed at what people are willing to pay for such items, I am not criticizing anyone don’t get me wrong.

No offence taken either, sometimes if you want something you just have to pay up or go without, it's up to the individual, sometimes we are lucky and things turn up in unexpected places at a more affordable price.
                                Happy hunting, Lee
