    Thanks Gary,

    Interesting that he served with the 2nd S.A.S, their can't be a lot of these ID books where the soldier served with both the elite units?,
    I would say it's a scare document.

        Whilst with the Parachaute Regt. and the SAS as a WO 11 Clerk he would have been LOB(left out of Battle)and remained at their home base to tidy up the records.John

          Very nice group - its unusual to have the unit so clearly marked in paybook entries. I must admit I dont think I have seen a wartime SAS paybook before, the only SAS one I have (well that I know of) was a wartime Welsh Guard who joined the SAS in the early 50's.
