    LRDG Wings

I understand that the SAS have (or had) a rule whereby anyone who had made a set number of operational jumps (I don't know how many) was entitled to wear his Para Wings above his left breat pocket. The LRDG were trained as paratroopers in Lebanon after the Desert Campaign. Did this rule apply to LRDG as well? I have seen pics of LRDG Troopers with SAS style wings on the right shoulder, but so far not seen one on the left breast. Any ideas?

Shotline,The SAS ( 'L' Detach,1st and SRS)were awarded the right to wear their para wing on the left breast after 3 operations not combat jumps.

The LRDG wore the standard army para wing on the shoulder but as these soldiers were notorious for switching units going where the action was, whether SAS,Popski's Private Army,SBS,LRDG,many wore the wing of the SAS if from the 2nd on the shoulder or on the breast if qualified with the 1st SAS.John
