            New Zealand:

            NZ/|\D

I am not sure about India.

By the way, I am pretty sure Australia is D/|\D

              As they say:
Dad and Dave = the old description for the markings commonly used by Aussie troops

Do you know what the arrows or what looks like tennis rackets stamped across the U stand for ?

According to Skennerton it means "cancellation mark", found on either the reciever or the woordwork of a gun.

                      Cheers, Luc

The Indian one is the top one in the picture (I with a broad arrow over top) from a 1940 dated washroll,
Below that is the Broadarrows on a pair of Aussie 1945 dated boots the standard D/|\D and the mark to the left of it was stamped on the sole.
The bottom one is an example of a New Zealand broad arrow from a battle dress jacket.

This is one I have had no luck with finding out were it is from. The jacket is made by Auton Reed and faintly dated 1941.
