It's better to show the whole pic. Maybe a Private purchase left hand Cavalry or so.

Posting the entire photo may resolve the origin of the holster. I'm guessing it could be french but the photo is not all that clear.

The holsters' suspension system is rather interesting. I have only seen these once before - in wear by the officers of a US and CDN Home Guard unit, based in London, during the Second World War.
The shap of the holster is vaguely European (Belgian/Dutch/French) and I believe these to be private purchase. The holster is relatively flat so I am guessing that it is for a semi-automatic pistol.
Final word, my educated guess is an FN Model 1922 pistol.

              French

              Greg,
If the picture in question has a Polish connection, I would suspect that the holster is of French origin.
As you are aware, the Poles were kitted out with French equipment during their reorganisation in 1940.
Also, as per usual, the Poles tended to hang onto any pieces of equipment or accessories that looked smarter when in full parade dress.

This kit that found it's way into unofficial "variants" of Polish officer dress.
I personally owned for a time a Polish officers service tunic which was taylored in Paris, and was adorned with a French leather belt and a model 1883 pistol holster.

So, I think if you can source some references to French equipment - 1883 through to 1940, you might find a match.

              Regards

              Gary J.

                  hello,
i'm belgian and i'm sure that it's the belgian police issued holster.
used postwar and in the beginning of the war.
                  correct me if I'm wrong.
