I can't work out what that device is on the tac triangle - is it a strange version of the hammer & sickle, just graffiti?

Sceptre is just the name the unit or crew have given to the individual vehicle, it's likely that all the vehicles in this ones squadron had names beginning with the letter "S".

can anyone show a picture teh cap badge worn by the rac,and what color whas the cap??

Hi Jacob, the RAC wore the black beret. Here is the cap badge. It can also be found in a plastic version. This design badge was only really worn during training, then men would be posted to the various armoured Regt's which wore their own cap badge.
