The centre is a partial globe of the world from Africa round to Australia.
There are no marks on the back.

Further to Leigh's comment, The 1923 issue of this cap badge was the result of defense cuts and the amalgamation of the RM Artillery and the RM Light Infantry into a single corp.Changes to their uniforms also took place,retaining the Blue Jacket of the RMA,the thin red infantry trouser stripe and SNCO's the Red Infantry Sash.The next change came in 1952 with Elizabeth 11 and a new crown.

As an interesting aside the Globe represents the old world as the US Marines wear the Americas giving an interesting split on the world influences and also reflects upon several instances where the US Marines and the Royal Marines fought under each others officers in combined detachments.
