    what is this ? gaiter ?

    and letter C and broad arrow , what mean D.A.Co:S ?

    Yes, it's a R/H gaiter.

      Hi Eric,

      Yes it is a Canadian WW2 Anklet/Gaitor as worn by practically every serving man. D.A.CoS is the maker.

          Yes. A problem not encountered with puttees - though that was a good wind up for sprogs: 'Your puttees are the wrong way 'round!'

            Not Canadian made

            Canadian Webbing was manufactured by ZL&T (Zephyr Loom and Textile) or by MSU (Montreal Suspender and Umbrella). This may be a British manufacturer.

                        I have in my collection a pair of gaiters marked Bata and a pair marked R.S.-G.H., both are definately Canadian colored webbing but I have no clue who the second maker is. I have seen several different makers besides ZL&T Ltd and MS&U Ltd on gaiters and various pieces of kit not specifically part of the P'37 set such as canvas items.
