    Recognition at last!

Today the Polish Parachute Brigade of general Sosabowsky did get the long wanted recognition for their part in the fightings at Arnhem in September 1944.

This morning all the surviving veterans were decorated with the highest military order of the Netherlands. The soldiers who died at Arnhem and the veterans who past away received the decoration postum. The grandson of general Sosabowsky was also present. He accepted the order in name of his grandfather. Finally the Dutch government gave in and did the right thing.

After 61 years they did get what they should have get 61 years ago. It is a shame that this took so long.

Now it is the turn to the British government to honour these men. It was their credit that 2000 British paratroopers could escape.

    Greetings,

    Frans

It is a downright discrase that Monty and those other posh gent's where shoveling **** to the Polish and came out smelling like roses themselfes. It is even more dishonourable that the English even blocked the proposals of queen Wilhelmina and prince Bernhard to awards the Polish with this order, even after the bloody war was over! It is indeed time that the English goverment should be appologizing for this black chapter.

And slavery, and invading Ireland, & invading Scotland, & drinking tea, and the Anglo-Boer War, and being beastly to the Germans in a couple of wars and not having the euro, and speaking English, wearing bowler hats, and not rolling over to invaders since about 1066 and I'm sure there's so much more England (or could that possibly be Britain rather than "England"?) should be apologising for?

I've the utmost respect for the Poles & their contribution to WWII but get over it.
