    Rajputana Rifles Uniform Help

Hi, My Grandfather was a Major in the 2nd Bn. (PWO) 6th Rajputana Rifles (Indian Army) during WW2 - he was a British Officer. I am trying to find out as much about this Bn. and I would like to find period uniform items to put together a jacket that would represent the one he wore. I know he spent most of the war in the persian Gulf protecting the Oil refineries, but did spend a month in Italy June 1944 attached to the 4th Indian Inv. Div (I do not know what he did there but I do know that the 4th Indian Inv Div. was devistated earlier that year at the battle of Monte Casino ). All I have left from his war years are a few photos (none that show a good view of his uniform), his medals, dogtags (from his rank as Captain), and several uniform buttons and badges, and some paperwork including his "Officers Record Of Service" book. Does anyone know what the uniform would have looked like, any picture, any idea where I could find one? Thanks David (Any information related to this Bn. during the war would be very helpful to my research). I have included a picture of some of the stuff I have.

I'm not clued up on these units or their insignia, but it's interesting that while his rank crown is in the form of the Kings Crown, as to be expected fpor the period of service, the cap badges appear to have the flat topped Victorian Crown, which was replaced on the old queens death by the Kings Crown.
Presumably a regimental affectation rather than a soldier aquiring an older style badge out of personal preference.
