                    Great BD - Looks like his best dress with the lanyard which is really nice. The ribbon bar lacking his other entitlements is quite common if the battledress wasn't worn past the end of 1945. What you see there represents to me someone who got his early allotment of ribbons which he never bothered updating later on likely because he was discharged fairly early. That to me is a good sign of authenticity.

                    Thanks for sharing,

                    regards,

                    Konrad

                      Yes, he would have been issued with the ribbons that he was entitled to at the time, not necessarily all that he would have been entitled to after the war had ended. This is common for wartime battle-dress, most servicemen were de-mobbed just after the conflict ended and did not serve long enough to stitch on all their ribbons.

                      Regards;
                      Johnsy

                        I agree with the previous comments 100% It is a good sign of originality. Also, he probably served most of the war in the UK, thus having no Africa or Italy Star or any other campaign awards. Especially being a spanner.
