    Another Early Aviator

This is the tunic of Richard Percyvale Ward. He was an officer with the 4th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers(with whom he was awarded a MC). He was then seconded to the RAF (Independant Air Force flying Handley Page 0/400) as an Observer and with whom he was awarded the DFC on 21Sept 1918. The Citation reads-----

"He has been engaged on 37 bombing raids and on 10 photographic reconnaissances, and has been in nearly all the raids in which severe fighting has taken place. Capt Ward has displayed the greatest coolness and courage in action, combined with ability and keenness in the work entrusted to him."

The French awarded him the CDG on the same date.

damn you have some nice uniforms. Your war room must be massive judging by what I can see in the background! Do you have any WW2 Aussie army uniforms and slouch hats?

                Hi Chris,,

I do have quite a feww Aussie uniforms but they are not set up in the War Room yet(no room alas) and sadly I have yet to find a good Slouch hat! I will dig the Aussie uniforms out as soon as I can and post them.

                Cheers
                Gary
