    Are these Commando patches WW2?

Hi, could these patches be originals made in the 2nd WW? Please comment why they are original or post-war.

    Thanks in advance.

Compared to one of mine these Combined Operation patches must be post war
the one I have issused to me in 1943 has a Thompson sub machine gun on it.

I must say I am not too impressed by the fronts, but the back will tell the full story.

          Cheers, Ade.

Crude copies that resemble original locally made pieces IMO

Scrappy, untidy, clumsy embroidery. Shelbycobra1966, type in cunnard or petehal1 into the search facility and you'll learn a lot about these badges.

              Thanks, from Jack.

I am wondering why the Americans copied the Combined operations badge for a Special Engineers Unit..

It's because Yanks always copy our best stuff Only joking guys!

I think it is because the design encompassed the all arms of service aspect of the units mission.

                          Cheers, Ade.
