Help with RCN or FAA pin

I found this pin a while ago and wonder if anyone has any info on it. From the design elements I would guess it's a sweetheart item for a Canadian Navy anti-sub unit. My wingman friends in Canada are stumped.

The words NE EXEAT are legal terminology "Let them not go out". I've been looking for information for a while and I've translated NE EXEAT as "Let him not find out" . BTW - it's a beautifully made piece with riveted construction marked BIRKS Sterling, a well known Candian maker of sweetheart items.

Can anyone tell me anything about it? Perhaps it was for a specific unit?

    unknown RCNAS WW2 pin?

I posted this many years ago and got no replies. I'm bringing it up again in case there's news.
IMO its a sweetheart pin for a Canadian Naval anti-submarine patrol squadron. The naval crown is well made, the fish has nice detail and BIRKS is marked on the back. The pin is about 1 inch tall and in excellent condition.
    Any help would be welcome.

Well not reprseting any RCN unit crest I could look up.

There where no RCN Air Arm units duing the war period (all Canadains served
      with the RN )

Checked all the badges of RCN and RCAF could not find one that matches.

The prase 'Ne exeat' as used on a badge like this would express 'regret or loss' so not a unit sweetheat but a family member badge to show that you support a that a close releitive is gone.

Or it is a anti or pro conscription protest badege. Meaning do not let the toop go over-seas or sarcastily the same thing.

Once you found it to be related to HMS Osprey I went on a hunt together with another researcher. He found the design on the crest for this station. Perhaps that's what you found, too. In any event, you have led me to the origin of the design for the little pin... thank you!
The motto "NE EXEAT", the design elements of an osprey pulling up a rotten fish and the naval crown all make sense now. Can't say the same for that Maple Leaf.
            Cheers!

To me the Canadian connection would be fine. There would of been a very large Canadain contigant there during the war. Any Canadian serving with the FAA whent though there.

As well there was a sizeable WRCNS division there after 1943

You first impression was correct a sweetheart pin.
