    RAF wound badge?

I have always just called these wound badges, but I suspect I may have it wrong.

When I find them cheap, I pick them up. Most of the ones I find around here (Los Angeles) have a "C" prefix, then a number. This is the first with an RAF prefix. It also has a hand scratched "A/G", so I think this was given to an RAF gunner.

Maybe some one can provide some answers for me? Can these badges be traced to individuals? Also, what is the correct term for them and who exactly was authorized to get them, wounded or anyone who was in the service?

    Thanks

    Patrick

Here is the back. The A/G is scratched at ~2 o'clock position.

Here's a link to an earlier thread which gives basic details. I'll need to check the books to give details re the C prefix etc, unless someone does it before me - details are in H Williamsons books on WWI research.
