    Unit Information Help Needed...

    Hi,
I am researching my grandfathers Military Service in WW2 and would like to find out more information on his unit details/Whereabouts.

I am looking for info on the following units please..

    666 A W Company,Royal Engineers part of..

    53 (w) Division-Germany.

He was serving in this unit on his discharge on 13 December 1945.
Other units are not yet known, but he served from July 1940 to Dec 1945.

Any info on these units at all would be really helpfull,Thanks and regards,
    Lynton.

      Hi Ade!!

      Thanks for the fast reply!!
No mention of 666 AW Coy,RE in the 53 (W) orbat?

No,I have yet to obtain his service records, but I have aquired
a discharge leave Certificate which is stamped with these 2 units with
his testimonial on it,by the OC of 666 AW Coy RE.

      Cheers,lynton.

AW Coy = Artisan Works Company

You may get a result from the Corps of Royal Engineers Museum. There was a 663 AW Coy in 53 (Welsh) Division, which is only 3 out.

          Hi,
          Thanks for the help!
I'll try the RE Museum and see what I get there. The Stamp of the unit is definatly 666 AW Coy,and the division is hand written in in bold capitals,so the unit must be there somewhere.
          Regards,Lynton.
