    insignia on denison smocks?

Hi, I need information about whether these insignia were worn on a denison camouflaged smock by british paratroopers.

    or any other?

    if possible with photographical evidence.

    thx!

Hi, these insignia were not worn on the Denison smock. Only rank insignia and wings were worn

    Cheers, Ade.

      thank you,
one more question: did it occur that the airborne badge was worn on the breast?

Hi Mac, do you mean the Glider Pilot wings? If so, yes, they were were on the breast.

        Cheers, Ade

Hi Mac, the wing you show here is Canadian Paratroopers wing and it is correct to wear it on the smock.

            Cheers, Ade.

Hi Jack, indeed there were but I did not want to confuse Mac with non regulation examples

Actually, my friend Robbie, (from our LH group), his Dad was a Glider Pilot in WW2 and his Dad wore a Pegasus flash on his smock. Robbie is a collector and knows how "wrong" this was. Sadly no photos.

                    Cheers, Ade

                      I know Ade, just teasing

I think that photo is really unusual - would have never imagined it really!!!

I see he has the Officers Ulster 'airborne' cap badge with the title scroll across its centre. There are lots of photos in the Pegasus bridge museum of the Ulster Rifles ORs wearing the maroon beret are the usual full size cap badge but I have never been sure whether the Ulster officers alone wore the smaller badge witht he scroll ot the SNCOs wore it as well. Any one know?

                          Hi Alan,

It's not massively unusual to find trade/qualification badges worn on Denisons either.

                          Yours, Guy.

Yes it was more of a hat rather than a jacket question.

Alan, from what I've seen in pictures etc. only the Officers wore the smaller type cap badge.

I wonder if this cap badge was unique to the 1st Battalion or not??
