Para Royal Corps of Transport Badge??

Hi guys, I picked this up with a lot of Para stuff some time ago and this badge was in with it. It is a bullion Royal Corps of Transport badge, possibly officers issue. The background is maroon, does this denote a parachute connection?

My scanner tends to wash out colours, the background colour is exactly the same colour as the current issue Canadian para beret.

    Thanks,

    Greg

Hi Greg, if the size is roughly that of the original cap badge, than that is what you will have The RCT was the sucessors to the old RASC, of course they themselves have now dissappeared to become the RLC.

      Cheers, Ade.

Uscob, the size is the same as a standard cap badge.

Ade, does the maroon backing indicate a para connection?

Jack, I'll try to post it shortly.

          Cheers

Hi Greg, yes the maroon backing would indicate that it was made for wear on the Red beret.

            Cheers, Ade.

                  cap badge

as ex army myself thought id let you know that we used to call the RCT rickshaws, cabs and taxis, and when they changed to RLC it was known as real lazy c***s just abit of inter rivalry between regiments. no offence to ex soldiers of them phil.

officer badge definately for wear on the maroon beret of those RCT units in 5 Airborne Brigade. Solider wore the anodised version. Not provided by service sources but sold privately by outfitters so minor different variations are found.
