    Here We Go Again!!

    Hi all,

Looks like our friend bonfi on eBay has been at it again. The funniest thing I found with this one is that he claims that the eagle has been painted over for camo reasons but the blazing red/white/and green was left intact. I'd say the divisional shield was as good or better a target than the eagle. It seems like the wear is localized solely on the divisional shield and the rest of the helmet is virtually untouched. Almost as if it was meant to decieve . Other thoughts or opinions?

    Cheers,
    Greg

    Hi Greg,

I don't buy his explanation either.
Did you notice there are 2 rustspots in the divisional badge: they must have been there when he painted the shield and wisely painted around them. The only other damage is superficial, just damage to the red or white paint and not the green underneath (screwdriver)!

The brush used to paint over the eagle was a very small one, my guess about 1cm wide?
If I had to paint over all eagles of an entire division, I'd take a bigger brush!

    Cheers, Luc

In all honesty Greg I don't think It's all that easy to tell from the photos. Personally I feel it may have a chance of being good but I don't know the sellers history.

      Yours, Guy.

            Greg, Tony,
You wouldn't know a veteran of this division would you?
Seems easy to verify this story.

Afternoon Guy, how's my twin bro?

            Cheers, Luc

              Hi all,

Thanksfor the replies. I assumed they would fall along the same line as my opinion.

              Guy,

This seller has a bad history of releasing junk into the market in spurts over the last couple of years. You'll see that he will be around for another month or two and then he'll disappear for another 6 to 8 or so.

              Cheers,
              Greg

OOHHH sorry guys, I haven't come across him before so only went by the photos. Didn't pay any attention to the description either.

Hi Luc, things are great here. Am trying to get over again in the next few weeks so will give you a shout and we will meet up.

                Take care all, Yours, Guy.

                  Hi all,

Wow!!! Did anyone else follow this one? $511.50 at close. Yikes!!! That's an awful lot of money to spend on something like this. I checked the bidder list and the usual suspects were there as well as a few newbies. I guess it's true about a fool and his money. I just wish that these people were around when I was selling on ebay.

                  Cheers,
                  Greg

Perhaps we should identify all the dubious entrants onto ebay. This means buyers and sellers. The phantasy commandos tend to drive prices up but as bidders they dont seem to honour their bids.
I have been both a victim and unsuspecting victim of this practice...selling a single item thought to be genuine but proven by expert opinion to be suspect. On the other hand...we should not protect the identity of those willing to take advantage of us. My ebay credit rating is 100 per cent but have resevations about leaving any negative feedback to those that may leave rather offensive feedback in return.

I believe...this forum should identify suspect ebay identities for the sake of all members.
