British/Poland Tobruk shorts

trying to find butttons to restore shorts given to me by Polish WW2 veteran
He cannabalized the shorts...and I have no idea what buttons are right

Hi G, plastic battledress blouse type buttons are fine, (the type used on the 1940 pattern blouse) as would be tin/brass metal buttons too. I have seen both used.

These shouldn’t be too hard to find. How many do you need in total? (Can’t quite determine a quantity off of your posted pics)? I know a local collector of British WWII items who would have some. I'll be happy scoop a set for you.

Hi G, as well as the buttons for the fly, you will also need two buttons to hold the tapes on the left side as you look at the photo. The photos are not very clear but these look like the buckle type shorts which close with two tapes? I think that it might be a problem to find these buckles?
