    Beach signals?

Thanks Marc,I know Michael mentioned that 22 Beach Brigade had an inf.Battalion attached but did the same apply to the Beach groups?I'm sure I read somewhere that they were formed around infantry units i.e.the Kings Regt.but I can't find the website now.I see also that 22 Bde. isn't mentioned in the order of battle, where did they fit in?.

        Hello Marc,
many thanks for posting the beach groups orbats , superb details thank you .
ref: the 22nd BEACH BRIGADE ( penguin ) now this is puzzling , the old boy i visited did serve in the normandy landings and later his scrap book backs this up with drawings photos etc
inside the cover , glued in was several badges including a combinded ops and the penguin badge , the page was entitled
` my war time badges or badges worn in the war ` it was a very quick look /visit due to his age health etc
so the two points that i can come up with is the 22nd badge was a war time unit and or the badge has been linked to the wrong unit?
or ( more realistic ) the veteran i spoke with is mistaken as can happen after 60odd years he was certain the Border regt was in his unit ?
i presume what has happened heres is the 22nd is a post war badge and that because the guy may have served until 1947 before leaving the services ,
he has called all his army badges ` my WARTIME badges with out giving it much thought ?
        Michael.

          Beach sigs.

Thanks for the info guys. You may have hit the nail on the head Marc.I did a search for 22nd Beach Brigade and the only thing I could find was a request for information left on the combinedops.com site.It was from a man who states he served in 2 Pioneer Beach Group of 22nd Beach Brigade when they were training in Scotland for the intended invasion of Japan. It looks like the unit existed during the war but as to whether it was around on D-Day?More searching I guess.Cheers,

          Paul
