    Norfolk Rgt Trio, Help Please.

    Hi Chaps,

Just purchased this WW1 trio to A private in the Norfolk Regiment. He is mentioned in his local church at Hockering; About 20 miles from where I live but was not a casualty.

I just wondered if any of the medal buffs were able to tell me any more about this man such as his battallion etc.

I will probably end up putting them on the E-stand eventually unless he was 4th battallion which I doubt. Preference will be given to collectors from the East anglia region to keep them local if possible and they will not be sold outside the UK.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Yours, Guy.

        Hi Guy,

Your man transfered to the RAF and became number 300846. He survived the war.

The regimental number on the star does not suggest a TA Battalion.

Let me into a secret......whats so good about the 4th Battalion? I thought all the Norfolk collectors wanted medals to the Sandringham company of the 5th Battalion?

        Steve.

Thank you Steve, Thats great news. Is there any way I can find out what he did in the RAF?

As regards the 4th were they not the lads who went to Gallipolli? It's shamefull I know but my knowledge of my local regiment is really poor.

          Best Regards, Yours, Guy.

            It will cost you £3.50.

The Sandringham Company who were the so called 'Missing Battalion'. People appear to get confused into thinking the entire Battalion went missing, not so only the 'Sandringham company'.

If you want a group to the 5th Battalion theres one on Ebay right now.

Hello Steve, was the Sandringham company of the 5th Battalion the ones depicted in the TV play starring David Jason?

I remember watching that on the box when it first came out and thought it was excellent.

I was half expecting him to say "luvly jubbly" or "You plonker!" halfway through !!
