Can you date this British Army leather Belt?

Found this today in my garage.

I am 100% sure this is not a common sam browne belt.

There are no other brass fitments bar the buckle. It has 13 holes for the buckle which would perhaps suggest an issue item.

Note the broad arrow in the second pic.

    Many Thanks,

    Steve.

    Hello Steve,

I couldn't place a firm date on this but I do know that it's a 1903 pattern leather belt. They were still in use by a lot of units in WW2.

I've attached a famous photo of one being worn by a Para. Here he uses it to tuck his 1911 into.

    Thanks, from Jack.

      Jack,

Many thanks for the information and pic. I didnt realise there was a market for these amongst the Airborne collectors!

Ive got another one of these somewhere but proving its military would be hard as there is no broad arrow.

      Steve.

          Hi Steve,
It was also used by MP's together with a P '03 leather ammo pouch and holster. Many soldiers simply used it as a belt.
Are you sure there's no date? Mine is stamped on the inside I believe.
          Cheers, Luc
