Trying to place an album. I take it these guys are English? What do the number represent, division, regiment etc.

Hi Karl, they are not "Tommies" but I guess they are either French or Belgian troops? I guess this photo dates from 1940? Sorry I cannot add any detail for you but I know next to nothing about these army's.

Interesting to note that the soldier at the back right is German, .. so these chaps are probably POW's ... and their smiling !!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like they have a crown on their uniforms so I'd go for them being Belgian.

They come from a German album that has a few clues to what unit it might belong to.

I thought these guys might have been either from England or Belgium, the crown.
