Black beret opinions

I would appreciate any opinions on this beret. So far, all the other examples I’ve seen have two ventilation grommets. Is it unusual for those to be absent? Also, am I correct to think you could only use vertically mounted cap badges for this beret?

The Slot is on all modern Berets and can be used but mustn't. I also had a lot with Holes to both sides for Badges with Lugs.

Thanks for the feedback! I suspected it may be postwar after I compared it to others. Is this style specific to a certain era (i.e. 1950s/60s)?
