not british from what I can see, us civil war perhaps as suggested above

Nah,no marks or labels.One lower button marked 'perfectionne Paris' but I think this is a replacement.The cuffs are chevron, like on various military tunics.The collar is hessian backed inside and looks to have age

I would say more like a butlers or groundsmans or hunting jacket or theatrical looks small and fitted. It’s not British military issue . Good luck . Rob
