CWGC Grave to a French Soldier

In my local graveyard there is a CWGC grave to a WW2 French Soldier. Anyone know if or how you can research his service record. The CWGC only hold his grave details.

Maybe a Dunkirk evacuee who later died of wounds?

          Hello
          I think Popskipa get it
At this month/year there was no really escaped Free French who later filled units
His name is too common to have a match. I keep on searching

Can his service record not be traced via his service number and if so who do you apply to in order to get it.

The number is exactly as it is recorded by the CWGC.
