    Would appear period, as for the badge to the front, why not but not something I've come across myself before.

        Well, only thing I can add is that this is the Naval pattern sun helmet based on the Wolseley. It is smaller overall than the Wolseley and I've never seen one used by the RAF but I assume it could be possible. It looks like a nice example.

        Just keep in mind it is really easy to add a badge to a sun helmet.

          Very cool pity helmet . If you were looking to make More money you would add a badge from some unusual regiment not a basic RAF badge imo. Rob

            hi, thanks for your answers, I find it like this, I try to take out the badge but it seems to be there from a long time , I'm afraid of damaging the helmet

              The RAF were stationed in Iraq, India and various other hot weather stations between the wars, so it might make sense that at leat a few were issued to them. And perhaps because the Navy pattern was smaller - less likely to get knocked off on a wing, say, than the Army Wolseley pattern? Just spit-balling here.
