Can someone please tell me what era this is from?

It looks like something which would have been sold as a fundraiser for 'comforts for the boys' during WWII. Is it cotton or linen, can you tell?

Not sure how to tell the difference but it is thin. If you hold it up you can see thru it.

Sounds like a fundraiser then. If it is more modern it might be rayon or nylon but I'm not sure how to tell without destructive testing, except that those fabrics feel, to me at least, 'slippery' or 'shiny' compared to cotton or linen. I'm not sure if that is clear and makes sense?

It is not synthetic. A lite cotton.
