Boer War pith helmet

That is an interesting helmet. It appears later than the Boer War. I almost wonder if it isn't a movie prop actually. The liner system seems similar to the Vero's Detachable Liner that was patented in 1922. The use of the foil is a headscratcher as that wasn't introduced until later. Highly unusual to say the least, but I'm not seeing a British Boer War or earlier helmet. So my guess would be bandsman helmet or something from the 1930s or a movie prop. There were a bunch of movies made in the 1930s including The Four Feathers, Gunga Din, etc.

Hi Peter thank you I think it could possibly come from a movie, when I get it I hope to find some sort of makers mark. Gungadin used US piths and Four feathers a different type, just got to go through the other 800 pith helmet wearing films. RobGod please take justin bieber and gave us dio back
